We always seem to have the most incredible and diverse people in our training. It is so inspiring to work with everyone on their individual leading edges. I am in awe seeing people with such diverse backgrounds and experiences align to create shared purpose and support each other’s growth. Congratulations to all.
At Zenergy, we describe our facilitator training as 'whole person' (or holistic, person centred or multi-sensory). Working with groups of people without manipulation, coercion or reliance on charisma requires an embodied awareness of self, others and the group within the wider social and physical environment. Such awareness is grown over time as a whole body experience, called integrated learning. The ability to be centred, grounded and self reflective, and connect with others in constructive ways, is asking a lot from aspiring facilitators. Yet at the same time it is a wonderful personal development journey. [Facilitator know thyself!]
Facilitator education, which is primarily learning a toolkit of technologies and processes, does not do justice to the ever-changing, organic, fluid nature and subtleties of the group dynamic and the work of a facilitator. An understanding of the interconnected of all things and the growing capacity to be aware of oneself, others, the group and the environment are also a necessary part of becoming a facilitator.
